Coed, 4-5 year-olds
What to expect:
T-ball is designed to teach the kids the basics of baseball. Coaches will practice throwing, swinging and running the bases. Practices will be once a week and games are played on Saturday. We schedule our season with Kempsville Recreation Association (KRA). Games last for 1 hour. All players in the line-up will bat before playing defense. We encourage parents to assist their coaches in each game. A softer/t-ball baseball is used at this level to prevent injury.
All players will receive a jersey and hat prior to the season. Your coach will let you know what color socks and pants will be needed.
Players should have at least a glove to start the season. We also recommend purchasing a helmet for your child, but we will have league helmets if they need one.
We are always looking for volunteers to coach. Please contact the T-Ball Coordinator with any additional questions.
Games: We will schedule as many games as practical, depending on participation. We will attempt to schedule the games primarily on Saturdays and to be played at Charlestown Athletic Park (WKYA) and Munden Point Park (Creeds Rec).
